First Steps When Losing A Loved One

Steps In Arranging A Funeral

Once you have decided on the Funeral Director, you will meet with your personal Funeral Arranger who will guide and help you as you make many important decisions. Some of the things you will need to decide on are:

  • The type of  funeral service you would like
  • When and where you would like the funeral to be held
  • Whether burial or cremation should follow the service (this is often influenced by wishes of the Deceased, religious or cultural attitudes or personal choice)
  • Type of coffin, casket or urn
  • Floral arrangements
  • Music and audio visual presentations
  • Involvement of cars (if required)
  • Who you would like to be involved

Your Arranger can also help you by liaising with clergy, newspapers (for death and funeral notices), florists, cemeteries and crematoriums and any other third parties you may want to involve in the service. The job of your Arranger is to make the process of organising the funeral as straightforward as possible for you.

Over 65 years and through three generations, the Olsen Family has built and developed the experience, team and ideas you need to help you at this time.
