Steps To Arranging A Funeral

The first step is to meet with your specially assigned Olsens Funeral Arranger, at a time and location convenient and comfortable to you. This might be at your home or you are welcome to come to one of our modern funeral homes at Sutherland, Caringbah, Bexley North or Revesby.

It is the role of your Arranger to take the load from your shoulders while providing your family with a meaningful funeral experience. This means bringing to your attention options and ideas for the funeral that will make sense to your family.

Some of the things you will need to decide on are:

  • The type of service you would like
  • When and where you would like the funeral to be held
  • Whether burial or cremation should follow the service (this is often influenced by wishes of the deceased, religious or cultural attitudes or personal choice)
  • Type of coffin, casket or urn
  • Floral arrangements
  • Music and audio visual presentations
  • Involvement of cars (if required)
  • Who you would like to be involved

Olsens will be by your side to create a distinctively personal event.

Your Olsens Arranger can also help you by liaising with clergy, newspapers (for death and funeral notices), florists, cemeteries and crematoriums and any other third parties you may want to involve in the service. Our job is to make the process of organising the funeral as straightforward as possible.
