Environmentally Friendly Funerals
In caring for the community, Olsens is also proud to be able to care for the environment.
Increasingly, our customers are asking us for ways we can help them be environmentally conscious in the organisation of a funeral. Olsens is continually looking for new ways to offer a personalised funeral service that is environmentally responsible.
Some of the options we can discuss with you include:
- Enviro coffins made from pine or natural enviroboard (this material uses approximately 90% less timber than a traditional coffin and makes use of recycled cardboard and paper)
- Limiting the use of cars or fleet involved in the service
- Using plants rather than flowers for decorating the funeral and chapel
- Asking all attendees to plant a tree in honour of the Deceased
- Forgoing flowers and asking attendees to donate to a chosen charity for environmental causes.
