Olsens has a mission to promote, through education and training, bereavement support to families in our community in a professional, caring and ethical manner.

Loss, grief and dying are part of life; and every person at various times will experience each of these three phenomena. To assist individuals and their significant others, all those working with or interested in grief and bereavement require knowledge and understanding of the many aspects of loss, grief, dying, death and bereavement. Only by understanding these phenomena and by coming to terms with our own feelings about them, can we as helpers adequately assist others who are experiencing loss and grief.

Training and Seminars

Olsens has a commitment to bereavement support through professional development. It sponsors and holds training seminars for professionals who work in the areas of aged care, grief and bereavement etc.

Olsens provides training and education to staff and families of various community agencies such as Nursing Homes, Retirement Villages, Hostels, Colleges, Churches and Hospitals. Each year seminars and workshops are held featuring speakers with an expertise in the area of grief and bereavement.
