Cultural & Religious Needs
Having supported the Sutherland and St George communities over the last 65 years, Olsens have assisted families from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds to farewell their loved ones in a meaningful way.
The sensitivity, experience and care shown by Olsens staff translate across all cultures and beliefs, and our non-denominational chapels provide venues that accommodate the needs of a variety of rituals and cultural backgrounds.
Olsens has recently catered for the specialist requirements of the following religions and cultures:
- Italian - Olsens black hearses can be arranged in line with Italian traditions
- Catholic - Olsens can organise a Rosary recital and Requiem Mass with Communion or simply a Recital of Prayers (shorter mass)
- Greek, Serbian and Russian Orthodox - Olsens understands these special service requirements and will liaise with the cemetery to make sure all of the service elements are in place
- Buddhist - Olsens will ensure all religious fittings and symbols are removed from our chapel or covered up at the crematorium
- Vietnamese - Olsens Reception Lounges are suitable for large viewings and we offer catering to provide a range of refreshments for your guests
- Maori, Pacific Islands, Tongan, Samoan - Olsens ensures these important cultural traditions are incorporated into the funeral service
