Bereavement Support - Aftercare for Families

Olsens has a commitment to providing care to families both before and after the funeral.
At no additional cost, we call every family for follow up after the funeral and send a letter if telephone contact has not been possible.

If the family wishes we send literature to do with grief.  Families can make appointments with our Bereavement Support Consultant.

Families are encouraged to contact us for bereavement support at any time during the twelve months following their bereavement as they adjust to their loss. We may also make referrals to other agencies for on-going assistance or specialised care.

Candlelight Services

Olsens holds a number of Candlelight Services at Christmas for families and friends who have experienced a loss during the preceding year. 

The family and staff of Olsens invite all families who have experienced a bereavement during the year to attend our Candlelight Remembrance Services at Christmas.
Traditionally that time when families and friends gather together to share, to plan and express their appreciation for each other, Christmas can be so different for someone who has experienced the painful separation of death.

An act of lighting Remembrance Candles takes place during the services, which are held in our chapels at Sutherland and Revesby. The services are non-denominational and led by local clergy.
